Obituary of John Jurista

John “Yono” Jurista 92, of Eaton Twp. died Saturday October 7th. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Alberta Avery Jurista.

He was born in Eaton Twp. on May 5, 1925 son of the late Edward and Mary Gajdiza Jurista.

He was a 1943 Graduate of the Tunkhannock High School, member of the Triton Hose Company, and the Tunkhannock Moose lodge.

He was preceded in death by his step daughter Caroline Drew, brothers Edward, Michael, Joseph, and Andrew, sisters Antoinette Kristunas, Helen Sawicki Sharpe, and Mary Kuffa.

He is survived by daughter Mary Jurista, of Monroe Twp., step daughter Carol Graver, of Winder, Georgia Brothers George, of Tunkhannock, Thomas, of Brackney, granddaughter Casey Belmont and companion TJ Williams, great grandchildren James and Johnathan Williams with whom John resided with, along with several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Blessing service will be held Wednesday October 11th at 12 Noon from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock.
