Stanley C. Hedrick, of Bardwell, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Born on April 13, 1944 in Helen Furnace, PA he was the son of the late Walter and Bernadette (Watkins) Hedrick. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, DeDe Cigna Hedrick. Stanley was a graduate of North Clarion High School in 1962. During his time in high school he was a member of the FFA. He graduated in 1968 from Penn State University with an AS in Civil Engineering. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a dog handler on a missile base stationed in Korea. Prior to retirement he was employed as a Project Supervisor with Sordoni Construction for 36 years. During his time as an engineer he built many large projects including hospitals, colleges, churches, universities, libraries, and water treatment plants. Stanley was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church for 40 years. He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion Post 0457 in Tunkhannock. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and reader. He particularly enjoyed Tom Clancey books, hunting on the farm, playing cards, camping with his family and his afternoon naps. He was always known to have on him a pen, watch, and pocket knife. Most of all he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his buddy Bosley, the family dog. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Madison Rose Hedrick, Richard and John Cigna. In addition to his wife DeDe, Stanley is survived by his son’s: Norman and wife Connie of Dalton, Christian and wife Dawn of Tunkhannock; grandchildren; Taylor, Aron, Faith and Ryan; siblings, Georgia Taylor and husband Gene of Ohio, Neil and wife Paula of Florida, Clark and wife Pam of Virginia, and Scott Hedrick and partner Juan of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his Aunt Jean of Pennsylvania, Mother in law Lucy Cigna of Dunmore, Joe Cigna and wife Danelle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends some of which he considered his adopted children. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 20, 2014 at the Dalton United Methodist Church, 125 South Turnpike Rd., Dalton, PA.
