Lambert “Dutchie” Shalata of Tunkhannock, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. With his family by his side, he left to be with the Lord. Born in Meshoppen on June 9, 1954 son of Janet Traver Shalata of Monroe Township and the late Joseph T. Shalata. He was employed by Meshoppen Stone Inc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love of the outdoors and what it offered was something he shared with many. He was a proud and loving grandfather. He was a loving father who shared all he knew. Lake Carey was where he loved to be and knew so well. Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law Justin and Lindsay Shalata of Meshoppen, grandchildren Kierney and Brant Shalata, sisters JoAnn Williams of Monroe Township, and Nancy and her husband Bradley Rosencrans of Sweet Valley. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Rev. Lynn Mokwa. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
