Boyd H. Strickland, of Nicholson, died at his home on Saturday September 12th. He was born in Springville on August 26, 1922, son of the late Raymond Boyd and Alberta Stark Bunnel Strickland. He was a self-employed dairy farmer all his life and during his farming career went to Russia to give seminars on agriculture and dairy farming. He was an avid flyer having owned several airplanes over the years and was a former member of the Skyhaven Board of Directors. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Europe. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth Shaffer Strickland and second wife Irene Kohnke Strickland, and Brother Ken Strickland. Surviving is a God Son David and wife Kathy Thorne of Factoryville, step-son Bill and Peggy Kohnke and step-daughter Chris Carveller all of Montrose, Sisters Nan and Rev Jose Valencia Vestal NY, Lena S. Lewis Raleigh NC, Ruthy and Gary Ruffhead Lancaster PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home 73 W. Tioga Tunkhannock with the Rev. Charles Bishop, Pastor of the Elk Lake Community Church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service.
