James D. Goida of Meshoppen passed away at his home on Sunday. He was born in Philadelphia on December 14, 1963 son of the late Demetrius (Metro) and Frances Catherine Riley Goida. He had been employed by the Corning Natural Gas Corporation and was a member of the South Auburn United Methodist Church. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed camping, chopping wood, and campfires. He especially enjoyed his faithful German Shepard, Sheba, a gift from his wife. He is survived by his wife of one year, Robin Williams Goida, daughter Angelique of Sayre, PA, stepchildren Jeremy Vaskas of Meshoppen and Heather Stone of Colorado Springs CO; brother Michael Goida of Philadelphia and significant other Pam Miller, sisters Kay Browne of New Jersey and Lisa Goida of Philadelphia. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 3 pm from the Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Rev. Vickie Ellis officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 – 3 pm.
