Kathy, to me, you and John are synonymous with Douglaston Community Church - so many fond memories, and both of you such wonderful people, and always so supportive of our theatrical endeavors. I will always remember John in a very special way.

RIP Pastor John. My sincerest condolences to the extended Meyer family, his former congregants, and friends. He was a pastor but he was never preachy, he made being involved with the Community Church of Douglaston an easy and enjoyable thing. When my mother was dying Pastor John made a point of coming to NorthShore Hospital to pray with us. I'll never forget that kindness. I'm glad he's at peace.

It is with very heavy and saddened hearts that we offer our deepest condolences to you Kathy and to your family. John was a sweet, gentle and often humorous man. We first came to know John as more than just a neighbor when my father passed - John's kind and thoughtful words offered us peace and calm and his wisdom helped guide us through that maze of grief and sorrow. He was a masterful and devoted Shepard and will be missed by many but his memory will always be with those whose lives he touched.

John was a wonderful shepherd to his congregation. He was a very good counselor as well. He presided at my first wedding. I wasn't in College Point the entire time that he was there, but my parents were and liked him immensely. He will be missed. Kathy I understand your sorrow. He will always be there with you, just unseen. With much love and sympathy to you and your entire family. Susan Johnson Cote

As we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, your family was remembered.Rev. Meyer married us. I lived right next to the firehouse in Berne and attended the church and watched your family grow. Bill was in the same class in Guilderland and they share the same birthdate. We stil cherish those times and friendships. Bill and Linda Carman, Berne
