Joseph F. Soltis, 99, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 17, 2009. He was born in Clairton on November 26, 1909 and married his beautiful wife Margaret Phillips on September 24, 1940. They are survived by their children, Joseph P. Soltis (Mary Ellen) of Scottsdale AZ, Monica J. Denton (James) of Granite Falls WA, Margaret J. Rabenstine (James) of Pompano Beach FL, Mary E. Boecker (Kenneth) of Factoryville PA, Jim Soltis (Pamela) of Tunkhannock PA, John R. Soltis (Linda) of Orlando FL, 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Joe worked for U.S. Steel and then became a Police officer in Clairton. When the family moved to Yardley in 1950 he became a guard and then Supervisor of Janitorial Services at U.S. Steel, Fairless Works. Joe was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Morrisville, PA. He attended St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lake Winola. After his wife, Margaret passed away on October 17, 1984 he remained in Yardley until 1996. He then moved to Scottsdale, AZ and on to Arlington, WA in 2003. In late 2003 he made his final move to Tunkhannock. During the last 20 years he enjoyed taking long car rides and loved being with his family. Most importantly, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is now spending eternity with Him in heaven. He will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew him. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Lake, Lake Winola on Friday, February 6th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Lake Church, Dalton Road, P.O. Box 1, Lake Winola, PA 18625.
