Bertha M. Wintermute of Mehoopany, died Saturday in the Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. She was born in Jenks, Wyoming County on April 19, 1919 daughter of the late Samuel D. and Irene F. Dailey Phinney. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School class of 1938 and a member of the Mehoopany Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved cooking for her family and friends. Her needle works and quilting were admired by many. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald D. Wintermute, Brother Walter Phinney and Dean Phinney, sisters Delia Stark. Alice Horton and Nellie Holmes. Surviving are sons, Robert of Tunkhannock, Pa., Stephen of Bethlehem Pa., Roy of Dalton, daughters Ruth Forer, Mechanicsburg, Pa., Jane Rundell of Mehoopany, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. , 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with, Pastor Joe Billingsly, Pastor of the Mehoopany Baptist Church. Interment will be in Forkston Cemetery, Forkston. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming County Cancer Society, PO Box 629, Tunkhannock, Pa. 18657 or to the Mehoopany Ambulance Association, PO Box 182, Mehoopany, Pa. 18629.
