Gertrude E. White, 81, of Tunkhannock, formerly of Centerburg, OH, died Thursday evening at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. Born in McElhatten, PA on May 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Robert L and Olive Peters Bufford. Prior to her retirement she was a Machine Operator for Ampex, a distributor for Amway, and other multiple jobs. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter White Sr. in 1999; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by four sons: Walter E. (Luanne) White Jr. of Centerburg, OH, Enos C. White of Susquehanna PA, Val D. (Lisa) White of Susquehanna, PA, and Charles E. (Deirdre) White of Tunkhannock, PA as well as eleven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 18th, in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg, with Roger Crego, Evangelist, officiating. Arrangements by Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 West Church St., Centerburg, OH. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 21st at 3 pm from the Tunkhannock Baptist Church.
