Frances M. Carichner of Mile Road Tunkhannock died at her home on Saturday May 8, 2010 surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Frannie was born in Tunkhannock on September 15, 1967 daughter of Geraldine Farr Madill of Tunkhannock and the late Joseph Madill. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock high school class of 1985 and had been employed by The Trehab Learning Center in Tunkhannock as a career counselor. Frannie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and gardening. Her flower gardens were her pride and joy. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, and friend. She will be missed by many, but never forgotten. Surviving is her husband of 25 years Dean E. Carichner, sons Joseph, Dana and Mathew Carichner all of Tunkhannock, brothers Thomas Madill of New Orleans, La., Todd Madill of Lawton, sisters Joette Elder, Franklin, Va., Janine Jayne, Kandi Madill both of Tunkhannock, Rose Harvey of Harvey’s Lake, Elizabeth Dewolfe of Forkston, god child Olivia Carichner, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 7 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Rev. Lori Robinson, Pastor of the Eatonville United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 pm until the time of service.
