Obituary of Dennis Boyd Newhart

Dennis Boyd Newhart of Laceyville died Saturday in Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. He was born in Sayre on August 2, 1933 son of the late Elisha John and Emma Benninger Newhart. Dennis was a graduate of Laceyville High School class of 1952 and attended Wyoming Seminary for one year. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Jean Vusick Newhart. Son Troy Dennis Newhart, brothers Russell, Maurice, Edward and Floyd Newhart, sisters Lucy VanBoven, Mildred Roote, Maxine Arasz. Surviving are sons Dale of Tunkhannock, Rory of West Auburn, daughter LuAnn Greenley of Harvey’s Lake, brothers Carl Newhart of Tunkhannock, Frank Newhart of Camptown, Paul Newhart of Middletown, Pa., sister Vida Kone of Waverly, NY,7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 6 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Rev. Pat Newhart niece if Mr. Newhart’s officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to the charity of the donors’ choice.
