Richard L. Andrews, 66, a resident of Newark DE, and East Lemon Township PA, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. Born in Phoenixville, PA on March 14, 1944, he was a son of the late Dr. Emrys W. and J. Frances Spare Andrews. Richard is survived by seven brothers and sisters: George E. (Sandra) of Claymont, DE; Roberta L. Buzzerd, of E. Lemon Township, PA; Frank W. (Nancy) of Phoenixville, PA; Donald E. of Boyertown, PA; Margaret J. Legutko (Sylvester) of Newark, DE (with whom he lived); E. William of Lancaster, PA; and Marlene F. Seyler (Byron) of Phoenixville, PA. His nephews will serve as pallbearers: Robert and Thomas Buzzerd, Dennis, Rodney, Seth and Charles Andrews, and Mark Legutko. He also leaves behind niece and godchild Gwyn Blanch, nieces Sheila Melroy, Gayl Pease, Tamara Smith, Carol Vellios, and the late Jenilyn L. Buzzerd as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews and one great grandnephew who adored their “Uncle Rich.” Richard spent the last nine years living with his sister enjoying family activities with his beloved Marissa, Cailey, Justine, Xander, Shane and Aria. He was a member and daily visitor of the Newark Senior Center and his hobbies included latch hooking and photography. His most cherished latch hook is The Last Supper dedicated to the memory of his father and hangs in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tunkhannock PA. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 16th from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Murray Brindle from St Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1 pm until the time of the service. A private interment will be held in the North Chinchilla Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newark Senior Center, 200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
