Dennis William Mooers of Birch Drive Tunkhannock died Thursday evening December 24 at his home He was born in Scranton on April 20, 1955 son of the late William J. and Irene Miller Mooers. Dennis was a 1973 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and a Marine Corp Veteran. He was the owner of Shadow Transport in Tunkhannock until his was involved in an ATV accident on Memorial weekend in 1985. He enjoyed rebuilding antique cars and race cars. Dennis was an avid NASCAR fan, loving father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed being with family and friends. Surviving are daughters Nicole Lynn Barrett and husband Russell of Fort Collins, Colorado, Bobbi Beeson, of Cresco, Pa., sons, Russell Thornton of Scranton, Phillip Thornton of Tunkhannock, Twin Brother David James and wife Ronda Lin Mooers of Tunkhannock, granddaughter Erika Lynn Thornton of Broomfield, Colorado. Nieces Kayla Mooers, Lindsay Miller, Brandy Demchak, nephews Will Mooers, David J. Mooers Jr. Jason Mooers and Michael Miller II. At Dennis request there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Memorial contributions in Dennis name may be made to The Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation for Spinal Cord Research 109 German Hill Road, Tunkhannock, Pa. 18657. Arrangements by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
