Obituary of Larry E. Layton

Larry E. Layton Sr. of Avery Street, Tunkhannock, died Tuesday at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Silbaugh Layton. Born July 10, 1942, in Johnstown, Pa., son of the late Betty Jacoby, he was raised by Foster and Goldie Layton. He served with the Marine Corps in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. He was a retired coal miner Surviving are three sons, Paul and wife, Kathleen Layton, Taylor; Larry and wife, Amybeth Layton, Airmont, N.Y.; and Adam Layton, Tunkhannock; two brothers, Barry May and Jeffrey Layton; and a sister, Ruth Keyser, all of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Ashley and Elizabeth Connie Layton, and Stephanie and Monica Simon. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Geisel Funeral Home Inc., 734 Bedford St., Johnstown. Interment, Oak Cemetery, Johnstown. Friends may call Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
