Walter F. Miner of Benson Hollow Lane died on Tuesday in the Hospice Unit of the Mid-Valley Hospital. He was born in Sugar Hollow, Wyoming County on June 8, 1917 son of the late Alpheus Miner and Edna Allshouse Miner Sands. Walter was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School and a Navy Veteran. He was the owner of Walter Miner Trucking and Hay Service. Walter was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Wintermute Miner, brother Alpheus Miner, step brothers Clifford Sands and Howard Sands. Surviving is a son and daughter in law Terry and Bonnie Miner of Tunkhannock, daughter and son in law Diane and Wayne Short of Carthage, NC, sisters Charlotte Hadsall and Dorothy Mickley both of Tunkhannock and 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Brian Williams of Osterhout Bible Church. Interment will be in Forkston Cemetery, Forkston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 pm until the time of service.
