Ralph L. Wells, 76 of Tunkhannock, passed away suddenly on July 7, 2009 at home. He was born in Sayre on December 5, 1932, son of the late Leland and Mabel (Vanderpool) Wells. His beloved wife was the late Virginia Wells who passed away on February 25, 2004. Ralph worked most of his life as a dairy farmer. He also worked as a landscaper and black topper. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Every one who knew him loved him. He loved to mow lawns, and did so right up to the day of his passing. He was preceded in death by brothers, Leland Jr., Russell, Wayne and sister, Marie Moore. Surviving are five sons: Terry (Diana) Wells of Ephrata, Gary Wells of Tunkhannock, Randy Wells of Mehoopany, Allen Wells and David (Tina) Wells all of Jenningsville, one daughter: Vickie (Keith) Ayers of Taylor, two brothers: Carl Wells of New Era, William Wells of New Albany, two sisters: Shirley Wells of Towanda, Jean Wells of MA., 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Austin as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 11, 2009 at 10 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock with Pastor Lori Robinson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 7 – 9 pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
