Obituary of Evelyn K. Comstock

Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evelyn Kiesinger Comstock of Mehoopany passed away November 6th at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born January 15, 1926, on Golden Hill in Laceyville, she was the daughter of Corey and Ruth Smith Kiesinger. Evelyn worked with her late husband Howard for many years in their business, Comstock’s Garage, in Mehoopany. She also worked for the USPS in Mehoopany and baked for local restaurants. In her earlier years she worked at sewing factories. Evelyn had a wonderful talent for making beautiful and delicious cakes and did so for many people in the area. Howard was always proud of this and had to have a picture in a special album of every wedding, birthday and special occasion cake that she made. Evelyn was very involved in the VFW Post 3583 Ladies Auxiliary of Mehoopany and the Volunteer Ambulance Association going on many ambulance calls with Howard. If someone needed help they knew they could call on Evelyn and Howard and help would be available. Evelyn bowled for many years on leagues in Tunkhannock. In the past year one of her favorite pastimes was going on spur-of-the-moment mystery day trips with her granddaughter Amanda, sometimes over Dutch Mtn or some other rural locations, stopping to have a picnic on the way. Evelyn loved her family and will be greatly missed. Evelyn and Howard are together now where there is no more pain or suffering. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard C. Comstock, a granddaughter Andrea Allen, great grandson Tye Hollister Tunnicliff and by sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Evelyn is survived by sons Corey and Howard W. Comstock both of Jenningsville, daughters; Jane and husband Ken Miller of Kingston and Kay and husband Sevelon Tunnicliff of Towanda, cherished grandchildren; Corey J. Comstock, Wynne Marabell, Steven Comstock, Emmie Comstock, Melissa Eckert, Sara Hallock, Tanya Sebring, Stephanie Miller, Amanda Tunnicliff and Sevelon J. Tunnicliff. Great grandchildren Corey Comstock, Jason and Brady Marabell, Lacey and Adelynn Eckert, Avery Allen, Kayliese Robinson, and Kyra Hollister Tunnicliff and Kenzie Tunnicliff. Sisters; Lucille and husband Nelson Garland of Santa Cruz, CA, Arlene Moyer of Candor, NY, Sandra and husband Eugene Kunzman of Elmira, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews and her special companion Daisy Dog.
