Wayne E. Hussong, 81 of Jenningsville, Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012, surrounded by his family and Father Joseph J. Manarchuck. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Clara A.Heisel Hussong. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Wyalusing, PA. Wayne graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1948. Mr. Hussong was a surveyor and served two terms as county surveyor in Door County, Wisconsin, prior to coming to Pennsylvania in 1967. For nineteen years he had been a project manager with Procter and Gamble paper products company, Mehoopany, Pa. He retired in January, 1990. Wayne was also employed as a consultant with KBA Engineering, Consulting Engineers, McTish, Kunkel and Associates, Consulting Engineers, the U.S Census Bureau, and as a Transportation inspector with the Scranton District of Penndot. Mr. Hussong was formerly a member of the American Congress of surveying and mapping, the National Society of Professional Surveyors, The Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors where he served two years as Secretary for the Pocono Chapter, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association/Institute for Legislative Action. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Wayne was preceded in death by a sister Marjorie Hussong of Madison Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, of fifty six years, the former Joyce Orsted. Also surviving are two daughters: Ms. Theresa Stark, Factoryville and Ms. Lizabeth Lane, Tunkhannock, Pa. Also son, Wayne M with his wife (Linda Vogrin) Hussong, of Jenningsville, Pa. He also has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 4th at 10:30 am from St. Mary of The Assumption Church, Wyalusing, PA with Father Joseph J. Manarchuck presiding. Family and friends are requested to go directly to the church. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 – 8 pm at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony Cemetery Association, c/o Pete Hatton, 194 Crow Hill Rd., Wyalusing, PA. 18853.
