Obituary of Jane C. Davis

Jane C. Davis of Maple Lane, Tunkahnnock died Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was born November 12, 1921 in Kingston, daughter of the late Russell and Jane Evans Case. She was a 1937 graduate of Dallas Township High School and had been employed by Commonwealth Telephone Co. in Dallas, The Citizens National Bank in Tunkhannock and retired from the Tunkhannock Area School District after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, Tunkhannock Women’s Club, and was a former den mother for the Tunkhannock Cub Scouts. She was also active in the Tunkhannock Girl Scouts receiving the Curved Bar Award. She was very active in her community and church and was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Davis; two sons and their spouses Donald and Barbara Davis of Tunkhannock and Rusty and Carollyn of Lake Winola; a daughter and her husband Deborah and Michael Yager of Dallas; five grandchildren, Melissa Banks, Mathew, Allison, Katie and Stephen Davis.; and one great-grandson Dylan Banks. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Case. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock with the Rev. Craig Gomer, Pastor of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Cemetery Dallas. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
