Harold D (Bo) Cartwright, 284 Bartron Rd Tunkhannock passed away peacefully Thursday August 23, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Center Tunkhannock from complications of Alzheimer's & COPD. Born May 28, 1937 in Noxen to Moses and Eva Hopfer Cartwright he was a graduate of Tunkhannock HS Class of 1956 and served in the U S Army. He married Marguerite (Maggie) Bush Cartwright February 17, 1968 and they worked together all their married life. Together they started Bo's Auto Body which they ran until 1979 when it was sold to Phil & Jan Hoff. In 1981 they began Stony My Garden Center and continued that business until 1995 when they sold to Bob & Veto Barziloski. Bo and Maggie spent many wonderful winters at their mobile home in Marathon-Grassy Key in the Florida Keys where Bo fished to his heart's content. He was happy sitting on the patio telling fishing stories with his fishing buddies. We sold the place in the Keys in 2001, then spent a couple winters in Frost Proof with several people from this area as neighbors. Bo was a car buff and started working on them in his early teens with Phil Henning of Mehoopany showing him the ropes. He worked at Weaver Pontiac, Cathrall Mercury & Frank Ross before opening his own shop with Maggie in 1968. After selling the body shop he worked for a time with Ernie Lynn Appraisal. Bo & Maggie began their garden center when there were none in the area. They progressed to 6 greenhouses and several employees in the center and with a landscaping crew. After retirement Bo resumed working on cars and was happiest when he was fixing up an old car of which he had several. His last big project was a 1957 Thunderbird which he restored from the ground up and won 10 first place trophies and several others in car shows around the area. Besides his wife Maggie he is survived by a sister Helen & Donald Carey, Shavertown, mother in law Blanche Bush, Springville, brothers & sisters in law Clark & Barbara Bush, S. Montrose, Mary & Al Mullen, AR, Eugene & Nancy Bush Springville, JoAnn Baker & Richard Clark Kingsley, Alan Bush Easton, Elneda & Matt Connors CA, his almost adopted daughter Diane Kenia and granddaughter Brandy Kenia Tunkhannock, several nephews and nieces and his dog Maddie.
