Obituary of James Clark Sholes

James Clark Sholes, 92, of Tunkhannock died on October 19, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock, PA. He is survived by his wife Frances Mark Sholes. He was the son of the late Albert B. and Janet Allardice Sholes. He was a graduate of Meshoppen High School and the Lackawanna Business School in Scranton. James was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, the Meshoppen Volunteer Fire Company for 35 years, the Secretary/Treasurer of Overfield Cemetery Association, and a member of the Men’s Club and Lion’s Club of Meshoppen. He was a veteran of World War II serving four years in the European Theatre of Operations. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years and served 13 years on the Tyler Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. He is survived by his sons, Mark A. and wife Laurie of Harvey’s Lake and Christopher A. and wife Lisa of Forkston Township. Sisters, Ann and husband Sheldon Detwiler of Bellevue Washington and Janet and husband Perry Yaw of Potsdam, NY. Three grandchildren, Aaron and wife April of Seattle, WA, and Kayla Ann and Brittney Meghan Sholes of Forkston Township. One great-granddaughter Claire of Seattle, WA as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA. with the Rev. Thomas Mott officiating.
