Ruth Titman Kaveney Smith of Harrison St., Tunkhannock died Sunday morning at her home. She was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 6, 1920 daughter of the late Floyd DeWitt and Sara Billings Titman. Ruth was a 1937 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and received her B.S. in Commercial Education from Bucknell University class of 1941. Ruth was employed by Cadwalader, Wickersham , and Taft of New York, Western Electric Co., Inc., Bechtel Corporation, retiring from Proctor and Gamble Plant in Mehoopany in 1984. She was preceded in death by her first husband Evans Kaveney and by her second husband G. Fred Smith and a sister Helen Williams. Surviving are daughter’s and son in laws Sara K. and Joseph Santa of Tunkhannock, Barbara K. and Roger Melanson of Bayville, NJ, grandchildren Katie and Brian Melanson. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Pastor Lori Robinson. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, PO Box 447, Tunkhannock, Pa. 18657.
