Miles R. Delany of Maple Lane Tunkhannock formerly of New Hope died at his home on Sunday February 13, 2011. He was born in New Hope, Pa. on December 18, 1925 son of the late Miles H. and Edna Hutchinson Delany. Miles received his GED from New Hope High School and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a self employed truck driver working for various trucking companies in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was a 60 year member of the New Hope Fire Department, 55 year member of the Flemington, NJ fire department. Member of the Tunkhannock Moose Lodge, former Supervisor of Washington Twp. in Wyoming County. For many years he served as Republican Committeeman in Washington Township. Miles was preceded in death by a son Miles K. Delaney, sisters Anna Deitz and Josephine Arwine. Surviving is his wife of 40 years Eleanor C. Smith Delany, son James E. Delany Milford, NJ, Daughters Grace Finkbeiner of Flemington, NJ, Kathryn Campbell of Levittown, Pa., Janet Harabin of Lawton, Pa. 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26 th at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.
