Obituary of Francis Xavier O'Hara

Francis X. O'Hara Sr. of Springville Township, passed away April 23, 2012 at home. Born in Philadelphia on May 18, 1932 he was the son of the late James T. and Jessie Huff O’Hara. Francis was a master sergeant is the US Army for 12 years. He was an operating engineer in Local 542 for 20 years, and was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers as US park ranger for 10 years. Francis enjoyed his hobbies of panning for gold in California, metal detecting with his children, and gardening with his wife Barbara. Today a piece of our hearts went to heaven when our father passed away. He was a good God loving man and a wonderful husband and father. He will forever be missed by each and every one of his family members. Thank you Dad for all of your unconditional love all our lives. You are and always will be our hero and forever in our hearts. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Barbara J. Gomeringer. Francis is also survived by his four children, James T. O'Hara, Barbara J. O'Hara-Thibault, Sharon E. O'Hara-Wright, Francis X. O'Hara Jr., 12 grandchildren, & 7 Great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held April 25th at 10 am from The Church of the Nativity BVM, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA with Father Dan Doherty presiding. Funeral arrangements by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA.
