Obituary of David L. Merrick

David L. Merrick of Meadowood Dr, Tunkhannock, passed away on Tuesday July 31st in INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born in Scranton on July 4, 1952, son of Leonard and Marion Sporer Merrick. He was a 1970 graduate of South Catholic High School and attended Keystone College. David began his career in the electronic security industry in 1979 where he held various sales and marketing management positions, currently holding the position of Director of Marketing for Vector Securities National Accounts Division. He was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, and was currently serving as President of the Tyler Health Partnership in Tunkhannock. Surviving is his wife Nina Mowry Merrick, stepson Benjamin Pierson of Litiz PA, stepdaughter Ashley Pierson of Lancaster, PA brother Richard Merrick of Harrisburg, granddaughter Samantha Pierson of Litiz and a god daughter Lanie Merrick. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 pm from the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Peter F. Geschwindner pastor of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St, Tunkhannock on Saturday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8.
