Robert Ezra Carter, “Uncle Bob” a long time resident of Falls died Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. Uncle Bob was born in Lake Carey, Wyoming County on August 30, 1923 son of the late Ezra W. and Kathryn Sullivan Carter. He was a Marine Veteran of WW2 and lived and worked on the family farm for most of his life and did carpenter work as well as being employed at a local Saw Mill. Uncle Bob loved the farm and the many gatherings at his home. He was the most selfless, generous person, giving everything he had to strangers as well as friends and family. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Joseph Carter, sisters Elizabeth McLane and Lorraine Bates. Surviving is a sister Catherine Carter Voda and husband Theodore of Florida, special nephew Thomas W. Voda and wife Catherine of Falls, and very special pals, Michael Irish of Tunkhannock and Ezra T. Voda of Falls. And several other, nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Funeral services and committal services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8.
