Danny P. Owens of Sherwood Rd, Meshoppen, died at his residence on Sunday July 3, 2011. He was born in Thomaston GA on April 19, 1968 son of Tom and Judy Dickinson Owens of Tunkhannock. Danny was a 1986 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and was employed as an Arborist for the Brown Hill Tree Company in Tunkhannock. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather and enjoyed playing softball in various pickup leagues and was dedicated to his family and friends. He was an avid Steelers fan, NASCAR enthusiast, and enjoyed collecting polar bears. Danny enjoyed the outdoors including mowing his lawn In addition to his parents he is survived by a son Dagan Owens of Sanford FL, daughter Hayley Owens of Belport NY, brother Timothy of Wilkes-Barre; sisters Heather LaValley and Tami Owens both of Tunkhannock; a granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye, Leana Cendana, maternal grandmother Nora Dickinson of Dalton. and was godfather to Darren St Clair, and Cody LaValley as well as numerous nieces, nephews and two great nieces and one great nephew. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Rev. Lori Robinson officiating. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 10 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
