Gabriel W. Callwitts Jr. of Hazel St. Tunkhannock, passed away on Thursday at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. He was born in Throop August 8, 1918 son of the late Gabriel and Lucy Mayers Callwitts Sr. He was a graduate of Coyne Electrical and Television School of Chicago IL and prior to his retirement he repaired numerous televisions retiring from Procter and Gamble in Mehoopany in the area of fire protection. For many years he served as Scout Master for the Tunkhannock Boy Scout Troop and was a member of the Osterhout Bible Church. He was preceded in death by sisters, Janice Warnett and Marion Augustine. Surviving is his wife of 72 years Alberta Matusavage Callwitts, sons William of Tunkhannock and Richard of Waymart, 3 granddaughters and 3 great grandsons. Private funeral services will be held on Saturday with interment in Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Osterhout Bible Church, 204 SR 29 N, Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Arrangements by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W.
