I was so sorry to learn of Eva's passing. I work with Mimi, and she has always had such entertaining stories of her mother. What a character she was! Mimi has always been the proudest model of her mom's knitted items, sweaters, socks, anything. I love the story of the knitted dress she had to wear as a kid! What a hoot! We all became enamored with how incredible Eva's handiwork was, even if they were only socks, they were absolutely beautiful. It wasn't long before a box arrived, enclosing a pair of hand-knitted socks for each of us. We were so excited, you would have thought it was Christmas! We are planning a "sock day" for Thursday this week in her honor. I just know she will be with us. Eva was truly a kind spirit, and with Mimi's amazing stories and our awesome socks, her memory will continue with us at Smith & Loveless. Thank you for sharing her with us!

We always considered Eva to be a good friend, not just our son's mother-in-law. We were saddened when she decided to move to Maine but we understood the need to be near her other children. We will always remember her with fondness and hope the family will remember the joy and happiness she brought them. She is now home with her husband and with God.

To Eva's children and grand children (especially my dear old friend Barb) I don't need to tell you how special your mother was. She was an inspiration to me and a loving surrogate when I most needed one. You are all blessed to have been loved by such a woman. I know she is resting in God's arms now, as she should be. My deepest sympathy to all of you in this time of sorrow. God Bless.

Marty, Elizabeth, Jack and all...It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of your mom. I have many special memories of her. I'll never forget coming home with the girls and having homemade chicken pot pie for dinner. It was delicious! She was always so kind and generous to everyone, especially toward children. She will forever hold a special place in my heart. With love, Karen Vaughn-Smith

Our family offers heartfelt symapthy to all of Eva's large and loving family. For over 20 years she was a good neighbor, great friend, and wonderful caregiver to our children, Ryne and Rachel. She had not been in my life for many years but she has always been in my heart. Rita and Bob McGurk

I just wanted to extend my love and sympathy. I met Eva and Jack and the family when I worked for Dr. Rinehimer for many years. They were always so friendly and full of fun. It brings joy to remember them and their family. Thank you for writing such a grand obituary - I'd love to read her "book". Remembering you all with sympathy and happy memories. Gail

To my extended family,I know the pain that you are all feeling. Mommy Eva was a very special person in all of our lives. She was a second mother to me. She always had kind words and advice and a caring touch. All of my memories of her are good. Her headstone that she will now share with Daddy Jack reads" may God hold you in the palm of his hands until we meet again" that is exactly what has happened. Mom was very blessed. She is home now and may she rest in peace. I love you all dearly. Amy (Hood) Comstock

I just wanted to let you know that Mrs. Brabant will always be part of my childhood memories! She babysat my brother and myself back in the 70's. She was so sweet to all the kids, and the best cook! I also loved reading the obituary for your mother. It was the most beautiful obituary I've ever read, and I feel like I know more about her than I've ever known. Sincerely, Jennifer (Streby) Ostir

Dear Jack and the Brabant family, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your dear Mother. I remember so many good times at your house on Wyoming Ave. Just the other day, Dad (Dick Holton - age 89) and I were wondering where all the Brabant "kids" lived. The obituary written for your Mom is a beautiful tribute. With love and prayers, Bev James and the Holton Family
