Barbara M. Cortright of West St., Tunkhannock, wife of the late Dale F. Cortright, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Buffalo, NY on September 28, 1933, daughter of the late Albert P. and Myrtle M. Lyman Miller. She was a graduate of Corning Free Academy Class of 1951. She then attended nursing school. Prior to her retirement in 1995, she had been employed by Tyler Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide and medical records coder for 25 years. She is survived by sons and daughters, Judy Bonavita of Meshoppen, John and wife Dawn of Perryville, MD, Richard and wife Michele, Bruce Cortright, Sandra and husband Albert Dymond, and Elaine Cortright all of Tunkhannock, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 7 nieces and nephews. Per Barbara’s wishes, private funeral services will be held on Monday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, Attn: Dalida; or to a charity of their choice.
