Jerry L. Haas, 70, of Monroe Township, died Tuesday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Kowalczyk Haas, and they just celebrated their anniversary on July 9th. He was born on January 22, 1946 in Ashley, PA son of the late Harry and Mary Mosier Haas. Jerry is a veteran of the United States Airforce and retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport. He also retired from Proctor and Gamble in Mehoopany where he was employed as a technician. He enjoyed boating on Cayauga Lake in New York. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sandra and by his fur baby Brandy. He was preceded in death by brothers Harry, Charlie, and Bobby. He is survived by his sister Lorraine Cross of Warrior Run Pa., Marylou and husband Charles Muchichko of Towanda, PA, Barbara and Dave Fisher of Mountaintop PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
