Mr. Young had such a positive influence on my life as a high school student at Rumson-Fair Haven. He pushed me to pursue my love of Earth Science and to be the only one to ever take Geology as a Junior rather than a senior. He encouraged me to help tutor students in these disciplines. An even greater influence was as a track coach. He encouraged me to do workouts with the boys team to push me to my fullest limit and I'll never forget the time he told me to go ahead and get spikes for our cinder track as I would be competing on Varsity. Mr. Young introduced me to Lehigh University where I applied and was so excited to go to his house and tell him I got an early acceptance. He was my favorite teacher and coach of all time and I am so sorry to learn of his passing. May he rest in peace. Laurie
