Robert V. Mayer of Vernon died at his home on Wednesday, August 9th. He was born in Scranton on April 15, 1945 son of the late Vernon and Doris Lowe Mayer.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and a 1972 Graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Accounting. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Haskins & Sells, United Penn Bank and Jewelcor.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years Nancy I. Boyes Mayer, daughter Emily and her husband Eric Pollick Sr. of  Swoyersville, daughter Hillary Coole, Monroe Twp., sisters Phyllis Girven of Williamsport, Judy May, N. Richland Hills, Texas, grandchildren, Eric, David, Michael, Nicolas and Drake.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Mrs. Cathy Berkey, niece of Mr. Mayer, officiating. Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of service.
