Georgia Logan Smith of Tunkhannock, passed away in her home on March 9, 2018. She was the widow of Richard Smith, who passed on in 2001. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Helen Parsons Logan. She spent the majority of her school years in Scranton, graduating from Scranton Central High School. Several years ago, she joined and became an active member of the Scranton Central Alumni Association.

In 1956 she graduated from Keystone Junior College and worked in Gowanda NY as a hospital lab technician before marrying and relocating to NEPA. She was a homemaker for many years, taking pride in raising her family. She worked with her husband in the contracting business, learning how to paper, paint and do finish work. In 1979, she returned to her alma mater, Keystone College, and worked as a lab assistant until her retirement in 2000. After retirement, she had a bucket list which was made up of two adventures…to take a cruise and to learn how to line dance. She was an active member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church where, over the years, she taught Sunday school, was a youth leader and was a charter member of the Senior Bell Choir.

Surviving are three sons: Donald and his wife Anne-Marie, David and his wife Jill, and Douglas and his late wife Katrina, all of Tunkhannock. She had four grandchildren; Katie married to Dusty Kitzmiller, Bradley, Eric married to Juliana, and Stephen. One great-grandchild, Serenity. A sister, Barbara Hull of Horseheads NY, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) of 42 years, a brother Alex, her daughter-in-law Katrina and her brother-in-law Daniel Hull.

Services will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church or the TUMC Senior Bell Choir.
