Obituary of Saundra L. Powell

Saundra L. Powell, our beloved mother, of Tunkhannock, formerly of Shickshinny PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2018. She was born on May 9, 1938, daughter of the late Guyon and Margaret Burke-Andrews. She graduated from Shickshinny High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Philip J. Powell Sr. She is survived by her 4 children and step daughter-Philip Powell Jr and his wife Cathy and 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; Amy Nemeth and her husband Michael of South Carolina and 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; Thomas Powell of Tunkhannock and 2 grandchildren; Tabitha and Troy El of Tunkhannock and 3 grandchildren; and Cathy Gardner of Dallas and 1 grandchild and 2 great- grandchildren.

Saundra loved to sing and write poetry, which was often displayed in the local paper. She loved the Lord and was an active participant in the church, Tunkhannock Assembly of God. She loved to garden and work on her home decorating. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dog Zoe.
