Obituary of Sara Elizabeth Greenley

Sara E. Greenley died at her home on Friday. 

Born May 3, 1935, on Corby Hill in Eaton Twp., the daughter of the late Chester and Flossie Corby Sickler, she was a lifetime farmer and worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Company and Bocar Dress Company in Tunkhannock. She and her husband Carl owned and operated the Greenley Personal Care Home for over 30 years. 

She especially liked working in her garden with her flowers and vegetables and loved canning and making jellies from the fruits and vegetables she raised. She was a member of the Tunkhannock Pilgrim Holiness Church.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Carl F. Greenley; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl S. and Mary of Nicholson; Charles L. and Terri, John R. and Jackie and Jim and Marne Greenley, all of Tunkhannock;  daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Tim Newhart, of Meshoppen; brothers, James (Bud) and Dorothy Sickler, Centermoreland; Robert Sickler of Thurston Hollow; sister, Dorothy Shupp of Thurston Hollow; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.  

Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Josh Greenley; brothers, Harold Sickler, Paul Sickler; and sister, Myrtle Sickler Wyda .  

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at noon from the Tunkhannock Pilgrim Holiness Church, 102 West St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Joel Byer, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Centermoreland. 

Family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
