Obituary of Van G. Booth

Van G. Booth of Factoryville died on Wednesday July 25, 2018 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. He was born in Sullivan County on September 28, 1947 son of the late George E. and M. Elizabeth (VanBuskirk) Booth.

Van was a 1965 graduate of Sullivan County High School, graduating with a BA in Liberal Arts from Bloomsburg University and in 1971 a Masters Degree in Education from Ohio University. He worked several years as Director of Housing for the University of Maryland Baltimore County Campus. He achieved his CLU and CFP designations building a successful career for the last 45 years as a certified financial planner. In 2016, he merged his practice and became a partner with Keating Financial services.

While growing up in Eagles Mere, PA he was a member of the Eagles Mere Fire Department and the Federated Church. He was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, Past Master of Temple Lodge #248 F&AM which is now Nicholson Lodge #438 F&AM, Factoryville Sportsman Club, the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce, and Wyoming County Emergency Management Group.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years Elizabeth”Betty” Toy Booth, brother in law David M. Toy (Karen), as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brother in law, Robert E. Toy.

Memorial Services will be at the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church at 11 am on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with visitation hours 9 -11 AM including Masonic services.
