Obituary of Charles B. Gardecki
Charles B. Gardecki, 84, formerly of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 7,2018 at the Meadows Rehab and Nursing Center in Dallas,PA. He will be missed by his loving wife of 50 years , Jean Gardecki.
Born on August 6, 1934 in Chase, Jackson Township , he was the son of the late Bolish S. and Margaret E. (Sabol) Gardecki and was raised on his family's farm. He graduated from Lake-Lehman High School. Charles served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and was later employed at BF Goodrich. Charles was one of the first 100 employees to be hired at Procter and Gamble and was proud to have a career there until his retirement.
He was a former lifelong member of the current Nativity of the Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Tunkhannock, PA. Charles loved to meticulously care and maintain his property. His cats Taffy and Fluffy brought him much joy. Charles was a gentle soul who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife Charles is also survived by his closest nephew, Dr. Adam Coffee and wife Dr. Patricia Russo, great niece Natalie Coffee, sister in law Diane McKillop of Georgia, several nieces, nephews and special friend, Dave Evans for who we will always be grateful.
The family is grateful for the care given to Charles by The Meadows Manor and The Meadows Nursing and Rehab Center, Dallas, PA.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, brother Joseph Gardecki and sister Marge Coffee
Honoring Charles request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Charles’s Mass of Christian burial to be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 99 East Tioga St., Tunkhannock PA. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
