Mary Patricia Ratigan, 93, of Tunkhannock, PA died May 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband William Ratigan in July of 1968.

 

Born in Jersey City on March 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret McGrath. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, NYC.

 

Mary worked as an executive secretary for Meldisco Corporation in Westchester County. She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society. She loved all animals, especially her cats, which brought her joy every day. Mary was a generous, loving, and caring person. Everyone who met her loved her immediately. She enjoyed watching Mets Baseball, Johnny Cash, old country music, and all John Wayne movies.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Scarpa Bowman and husband Paul; grandchildren, Mary Cindy, Billy, Mikey, Nicky, Johnny; great grandchildren, Victoria Bennett, Annabella, Daniella, Gabriella Scarpa, Nick, and James Scarpa, NYC.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mary’s name to the Humane Society of Wyoming County, P.O. Box 478 Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Friday May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 99 E. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Friday. Interment will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
