How dose one talk about Sid without Grace, IT’S IMPOSSIBLE they were a team.they would tell us stories of their youth, adventures on the farm and family stories. They had us all laughing so hard we would cry.(they could have sold tickets)
I remember when Sid would call his mom every night a 8 o’clock, no matter where we were, it touched our hearts.
He was a strong man , he kept on going to be part of our summer fun.He was a spiritual man he loved his church and went every Sunday and always had a story or two to tell . He loved Grace she was his everything. Hw was a good man and a good friend who will be missed by many
Bench Buddies forever

Sid was a great friend. From our first meeting and upon hearing the booming voice saying “Hi’ya, How are’ya” we became coffee drinking buddies from that moment forward. I could not begin to count the hours that we spent together, sharing stories, drinking coffee, drinking coffee, then more coffee, and sharing more stories. I loved hearing those stories. When he shared his colorful views of history, politics, and tales of his growing up and coming to America. I never tired of listening and he seemingly never tired of sharing.
We experienced many things together. Car rides to New York City. Boat rides on the lakes of Pennsylvania. Times when each of us were in the hospital. (He once told me “Jon I will not take my dungarees off, even in the hospital!”) And sightseeing on the St Lawerence Seaway. Did I mention that we drank a lot of coffee together?
There was nothing that Sid wouldn’t do for me, and nothing that I wouldn’t have done for him. He was a great man, a great role model, and a great friend.
“Rabbi Schwartz” set a great example. He loved his “Gracie” and his children and grandchildren and it was evident. Additionally, the care that he showed his mother while she was yet alive, was also truly remarkable. His treatment of animals was admirable. His “Mr Perfect” is still the epitome of what I believe a Labrador Retriever should be, and like Sid, I still feed my dog “the best food on earth” Pro Plan. Sid loved God. We had deep discussions which revealed that his desire to learn and to grow were evident. Like everything else with Sid, his ways were unconventional, but they were sincere.
Grace, our prayers are extended to you and the family. I’ve lost a friend that has impacted my life greatly. May God comfort you as you grieve during this holiday season.
