Obituary of Anne Maracotta

Anne/Anna (Andriola) Maracotta, 92, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away April 30th, 2020 in her sleep. She was born in NYC, NY on January 28th, 1928 to Nicola and Mary (Fazio) Andriola of Italy and NY. She can now finally spend eternity with her love, her late husband, Carmine Maracotta of NYC. A Bronx woman at heart, Anne spent most of her career in NYC at Lord & Taylor. When she and Carl later moved to Wellsboro, PA she started working for Sears. There she enjoyed playing golf and performing in The Wellsboro Woman’s Chorus that she cofounded with some of her closest friends Beverly McKnight, Zelda Antoine, Carol Clarke, & Jackie Knaus over 40 years ago. After living in Florida for many years following Carl’s death she moved to Minnesota to be closer to family in 2016. Always the life of the party Anne was known for being a vivacious woman with a fiery passion for whatever she loved and believed in. These attributes were also accompanied by her incredible sense of humor that always left people grinning ear to ear. Anne was the loving mother of MaryAnn Rice and son in law Tim Rice, Peter Maracotta and daughter-in-law Kimberly Maracotta with step grandson William Maier IV, & Richard Maracotta. She was a loving grandmother of Emily Rice, Alaina Maracotta, Brittany Maracotta, Nicholas Maracotta & Sarah Kujawa who graced Anne with her first lovely great granddaughter Lily Kujawa in 2016. Anne also leaves behind her nephews Thomas Frascino with his wife, MJ Frascino, and William Frascino; grandnephew Jason Frascino and family; grandnieces Jennifer Frascino and family, Jacqueline Sagendorf and family, Kate Trociuk and family, Caroline St. Clair and family, Nicole Frascino, and Olivia Frascino. Given the restrictions our country is currently facing with Covid-19 there will not be a public service held. Her family hopes you will keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this time. She will be laid to rest with her late husband Carmine Maracotta in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock, PA. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W.
