Obituary of Jessie L. Barber

Jessie L. Barber, 86, of Mehoopany passed away Sunday January 24, 2021 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry T. Barber in 2003.
Born in Tunkhannock on June 8, 1934 she was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Cook Shiffer.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, and playing cards with her sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Harry S., David (Joyce), Robert (Cathy), Terry (Tom); daughters Donna Sherwood (Raymond), and Janette Barber; brother, Glenn Shiffer; sisters, Betty Fargo, Doris Solanick; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Barber; brothers, William, Edward, and Jimmy Shiffer; sisters, Alice Vorgin, Jean Misleavy, and Lillian McKennas.
Family and friends are invited to attend Jessie’s funeral service which will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at 12:00 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
