Obituary of N. Frank Ketchum

Nils “Frank” Ketchum, 85, died peacefully at his home in Mehoopany, PA on April 19, 2021. He was born in Rockford, IL in 1935. His service to our country was in the Air Force and that service to him to Okinawa, Japan. He spent most of his career at the Procter & Gamble paper plant in Mehoopany, PA. After retiring, he spent time volunteering for the Red Cross as a driver for one of their Emergency Response Vehicles and responded to emergencies all around the country. His biggest passions were backpacking & traveling the US. Frank is survived by his sisters Phyllis Moore of Michigan and Selma Taylor of Wisconsin; his children Lisa (Ken) Gandy of Florida, Eric Ketchum of North Carolina and Kevin (Holly) Ketchum of North Carolina, 4 stepchildren, Dale Hackling, June Lybolt, Patricia Trowbridge and Jennifer Ash (all of Pennsylvania), 2 granddaughters, 8 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adelbert and Helen Ketchum; his wife, Pauline Hackling; 2 sisters and a brother. No formal services are planned. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Donations in Frank’s name may be made to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, PO Box 807 Harpers Ferry WV 25425-9988.
