Obituary of Ernest W. Lesher

Ernest W. Lesher, 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday April 24, 2021, at his home on Russell Hill. Born in Wyoming County, on October 1, 1926, he was the last of four children born to Ernest and Carolyn (Harvey) Lesher. Ernest, Ernie, as he was known to all his family, friends, and neighbors, lived his entire life at Circle View Farm on Russell Hill. Where he road his bicycle hundreds of miles. He was loved and respected for his kindness, concern and humor to all who knew him. Ernie is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Marie (Drost) Lesher, who passed away in October 2003, and siblings Woodrow Lesher, Hubert Lesher, and Lillian (Lesher) Rooney. Also preceding him were his Aunt Florence (Lesher) Gardner who raised him from infancy and Dorothy (Gardner) Rafferty with whom he was raised "like a brother” Ernie was a member of many dairy associations over the years and was currently a member of the Washington Township Supervisors. He was also a faithful attendee of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Tunkhannock. His love for this church and their sound presentation of God's Word were a primary part of his life. Family and friends are invited to attend Ernie’s funeral service which will be held on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 102 West St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be held in Prevost Cemetery, Washington Township. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
