Obituary of Joseph Cresko

Joseph V. Cresko, Jr., 86, of Springville passed away July 10, 2021 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille A. Cresko in 2008. Born in Kingston on April 11, 1935 he was the son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Mary Klass Cresko. For nearly four decades, Joe mentored numerous young men to the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout, starting with his three sons. He was a loyal customer of the Fireplace restaurant for almost as long. A longtime parishioner of Nativity B. V. M. in Tunkhannock, Joe was a mechanical engineering graduate of Penn State University and began his long career at Bendix in Montrose. He was also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers for more than 60 years. He is survived by his sons, James E. and wife Rachel Hickoff of Williamsport PA; William A. and wife Cristin L. Hulslander of Eugene, OR; Joseph W. and wife Lori Scott of Arlington, VA; sisters, Dorothy Kachel and Marie Martin; grandchildren, Iris Cresko and Amelia Cresko. Family and friends are invited to attend Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
