John J. Borawski, 83, of Tunkhannock passed away on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at his home after a courageous battle with A.L.S. Born in Poland on August 1, 1938 he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella Rogowski Borawski of Scranton. John was a member of the United States Army National Guard from 1955-1963. He is a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. He worked for Procter and Gamble and retired in 1993. John had a great love for antique cars. He had a 1940 Chevy which he took great pride in. John is survived by his fiancé, Yvonne Boice of Tunkhannock; daughter, Theresa Whener of Scranton; granddaughter, Jade Wehner of Scranton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean and Marion; brothers, Eddie and Stanley; and a special step-daughter, Nicole Boice. Family and friends are invited to attend John’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 99 E. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert. Interment with full military honors will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Mehoopany PA. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
