Obituary of Daniel T. Kinney

Daniel T. Kinney passed away at home after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones on September 10, 2021. Dan was loved by everyone he met. He loved his family like no other. His grandchildren were his life and he spent every day with them. Every Tuesday they would always go to the Nicholson Auction. He spent his summers watching them and teaching them about life. Prior to his retirement Dan worked for Crock’s Feed Mill in Nicholson and Deer Park Lumber where he was known as the “Log Man”. He enjoyed his time with his family and camping with the grandkids. He would also spend his morning coffee stop with his brother Ken and his wife Cindy. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Smith and husband Matthew; son, Scott Kinney and wife Michelle; and their mother, Rhonda Kinney; grandsons, Matthew Smith Jr. and Tucker Kinney; granddaughter, Korie Kinney; sisters, Marion Mitchell, Betty Hallock, Robin Jones; brothers, Don Kinney and wife Aretta, Louis Kinney and wife Laura, Ken Kinney and wife Cindy, Mark Kinney and wife Donna; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel T. Kinney II; parents, Kenneth and Betty Kinney; sister, Joanne Tiffany; brothers, John Kinney, Jimmy Kinney, Paul Kinney, Randy Kinney, and Carle Kinney At the request of Daniel there will be no services and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
