Obituary of Donna Stang

Donna Stang, 55, of Meshoppen passed into the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 21 years Kurt Stang. Born in Shavertown, PA on May 23, 1966 she was preceded in death by mother, Sharon Conden and survived by father Bernard McDermott, II and by step-father, Lloyd “Butch” Jennings. Donna had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was a teen. It was her joy to tell others about her Savior and she deeply loved working with children of all ages and teaching them about Jesus Christ. She taught science classes for the local homeschool group as well as volunteered for the Endless Mountain Christian Academy. Donna instructed many children during church Sunday School and soon became avidly involved in the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. She helped with after school classes in the public schools and worked on planning and leading CEF day camps during the summer. She was currently attending the Braintrim Baptist Church, Laceyville. Donna was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and she possessed the gift of hospitality, often having people in her home for meals and fellowship. Her happiness, deep love and devotion for her family, love of teaching children, and passion to serve God was a joy to witness. She will be deeply missed by everyone. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Cody; daughters, Grace and Alayna; brother, Bernard McDermott, III; sisters, Tracy McDermott and Katie McDermott, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend Donna’s funeral service which will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Community Bible Church, 327 State Rt. 92 S, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with family friend Pastor Kurt Bricker presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
