Obituary of Louis P. Stang

Louis P. Stang, 86 of Meshoppen passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Meadow View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Renate K. (Herrmann) Stang on June 3, 2010. Born in Lemon Twp. on July 23, 1935, he is the son of the late William Milton and Selma Cecelia (Gansereit) Stang. Louis graduated from Tunkhannock High School with the class of 1953. After serving in the U.S. Army where he met his beloved wife Renate, he had a lifelong career in bridge and road construction. He was a devoted member of the Lemon United Methodist Church, a loving husband, brother and uncle, and a friend to everyone. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn and flowers, antique cars, and working on the family farm. He is survived by brothers, Dean and Peter Stang; a niece and numerous nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Milton Stang, Jr. and sister-in-law Doris Sherwood Stang; sister, Valeda Boner; and his niece and her husband, Mary Lou and Mark Clark. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow View Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and support. Family and friends are invited to attend Louis’s funeral services which will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Dr. Cathy Wilcox presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. A viewing will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
