Obituary of Elizabeth Sickler
Elizabeth Irene Sickler, 93 of Monroe Twp. passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2022 after an eight year stay at the Gardens of Tunkhannock.
Born in Eaton Twp. on July 13, 1928, she is the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Brown Sickler.
Liz attended Hunter School and Beaumont High School and worked for Bocar Apparel as a seamstress until her retirement. She was a dedicated member of the Bowman’s Creek Free Methodist church where she sang and played the piano for over 40 years. She also participated in many church activities and ministries. She was SS secretary, church and NY Conference WMI secretary and spent many years making sleeping bags and ugly quilts for the homeless.
She was a woman of God who dedicated her life to praying for anyone and everyone who had a need. Even though the last few years were hard for her she still demonstrated how great God’s love is for everyone.
Liz is survived by sisters, Grace Rogers, Clara Traver, and Carol Chisenhall; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Garinger and Pearl Sickler; brothers, Leland, Carl, Joe, and John Sickler.
Family and friends are invited to attend Elizabeth’s funeral service which will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Bowman’s Creek Free Methodist Church, 6470 PA-309, Monroe, PA 18657 with Pastor Lynn Mokwa presiding. Interment will follow in South Eaton Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
